Abstract With the vigorous growth of UHV transmission projects, lines crossing high-altitude areas are inevitable, and degree corona discharge in is more intense. The electromagnetic environmental problems caused by have gradually become one key technical restricting areas. To investigate how height affects positive polarity corona’s characteristics, using movable small cage to carry out experiments at four altitude points range 1120 m–4320 m, measures current pulse radio interference level 0.8 mm diameter fine copper wire under different voltages. Several conclusions can be drawn from data analysis, including following: average amplitude grows with altitude, first before decreasing, repetition frequency rises along altitude. major this essay serve as a starting point for study effect.
